Moonsling
A free multiplayer moon-flinging pet game you play in your browser
In Moonsling you pick a pet, walk around a moon-rock arena and collect rocks that orbit you as moons. Your moons are your shield and your ammo: fling them at other pets to break their orbit, pull loose rocks in, or charge up a Nova that blasts every moon outward at once. Each round lasts 2 minutes and the most knockouts wins; get knocked out and you are back a few seconds later. There is nothing to download and nothing to sign up for.
Play Moonsling now on a laptop, Chromebook, desktop, tablet or phone.
How to play
- Most knockouts in 2 minutes wins the round. Get knocked out and you are back in a few seconds, somewhere else in the same arena.
- Move with WASD or the arrow keys. Aim with your mouse and click to fling a moon. On a phone: left stick moves, tap FLING to throw at the nearest pet, or drag it to aim.
- Hold Space (on a phone, hold FLING still) to pull loose rocks in. Keep holding until your meter turns gold, then let go: a Nova blasts every moon outward. Miss, and you are left with none. Changed your mind? Click to throw instead, or on a phone slide onto CANCEL and let go.
- Your moons are your shield and your ammo. A thrown moon that hits a shield smashes 3 moons out of it, and a shield down to 3 moons (it glows red) can't stop the next one. A moon that gets through is a knockout, and the rocks spill out for anyone to grab. A throw that misses is gone.
Controls
- Keyboard: WASD or the arrow keys move your pet. Space is your button.
- Mouse or trackpad: point to aim, click for your button. Moving the mouse never moves your pet.
- Touch: your left thumb moves (anywhere on the left side), the stick on the right aims and attacks. On phones the match plays sideways.
Tips
- Rounds last 2 minutes. Knockouts are all that count, so spend your moons on people, not empty space.
- Click to fling where your mouse points. Hold Space to pull rocks in; let go when the meter turns gold for a Nova, or click to cancel it.
- Every moon you throw is one less in your shield, but every hit smashes 3 of theirs. Keep a few spinning before you pick a fight.
- A broken orbit spills its rocks. Grab them and get back in.

- Coins come from playing. A round pays for your time in it, a bonus for finishing in the top three (up to 20 coins), and each break (4 coins) and assist (2 coins). Less than 10 seconds in a round doesn't pay.
- One free daily spin pays 20 to 300 coins. The chances of each prize are shown in the game.
- Nothing to buy. Coins and spins can't be bought with money.
For parents and teachers
- Free, with no sign-up. Players type a nickname or roll a random one. We don't ask for names, emails or birthdays.
- No chat. Players can't message each other. Nicknames go through a filter, and blocked names are replaced with a random one.
- Progress stays on the device. Level, coins, styles and stats are saved in the browser, not on our servers.
- Ads. There are no ads right now. If we add them, they will be non-personalized and marked as directed to children, never shown during a match, and video rewards will always be optional. Our Privacy Policy explains the details.
- Made for school Chromebooks. It runs in the browser on low-powered laptops, works with a trackpad, and doesn't need any installs or downloads.
- Short rounds. A round lasts 2 minutes, so it's easy to stop between rounds.
Questions
Is Moonsling free?
Yes. Everything in the game can be played for free.
Do I need an account?
No. Press PLAY and you're in. Your progress is saved on the device you play on.
Can I play with a friend?
Yes. In a match, press INVITE to copy a link to your arena and send it to your friend. When they open it, they join the same arena if there's room.
What if my internet drops?
The game reconnects by itself. If you're back within about 20 seconds, you keep your place in the round.
Can I play without the internet?
Not online play, but PRACTICE in the lobby starts a match that runs on your own device, so it keeps going on a weak connection once the game has loaded.
